The Treaty of Redemption
Theocratic Union of Christian sects.
A large political entity made up of smaller political entities, all of which are theocracies of some sort and follow any one of thousands of Christian sects from the days of Terra.
Slavery is allowed but owners of slaves are required to give their servants regular access to medical treatment, clean and dignified housing, quality and nutritious food, and offer to free them every seven years. If the servant accepts freedom they are required to be baptized into the respective church of their former masters and are to be paid back-pay for their service. There is no minimum back-pay.
The various theocracies within the Treaty of Redemption differ from the entities within the Coalition in that none of them have fewer than three systems and they do not recognize stations as owners of systems.
The various theocracies within the Treaty of Redemption are allowed to engage in conflict with each other if they have approval from the Central Theocratic Council of Deacons and Cardinals.
Financial lending is prohibited within the Treaty of Redemption.
