Alliance of Independent Systems

Focused on the sovereignty and right to self determination of planets, stations, and systems within the Alliance.

It is a relatively small political entity.

Slavery in all forms are banned. All planets within it are believers in restorative and reformative justice.

A thousand years prior, the Coalition fought a war of independence against the Treaty of Redemption, The United Industrial Syndicates, and The Sagittarian Imperium. They were supported with credits and materials by the Queendom of Spring Haven and benefited from being in a relatively isolated part of galactic space.

The United Industrial Syndicates decided very quickly, after the destruction of the pride of their navy (The UIS Galactic Telecom(Galactic Telecom having bought the naming rights)), that the cost to benefit analysis was not in their favor regardless of length of conflict.

The Treaty of Redemption, fresh out of a war themselves were not able to prosecute a successful offensive against the coalition due to infighting and saboteurs from the Coalition.

The Sagittarian Imperium was successful in the early days of the war but were quickly fought to a stalemate. Emperor Justin IV, instead of asking for negotiations, simply declared that they were making sure the Coalition could stand on its own and that they earned independence.

Border conflicts with neighboring members of The Treaty of Redemption still occur but have become less and less frequent over the course of a thousand years. None have occurred in the present century.

300 years ago, the Coalition and the Queendom of Spring Haven mounted an offensive against a now unknown political entity glassing many of their worlds resulting in absolute depopulation. The government, now in exile exists on an unknown planet referred to as The Obsidian Bastion and the government in exile is known as The Obsidian Remnant. Records of the conflict were purposefully obfuscated in historical records, favoring the idea of the two entities being seen as progressive and anti-imperialist. However, unbeknownst to either, sympathizers and members of the Obsidian Remnant infiltrated their power structures over the years. They quietly channeled arms, munitions, and other materials into the Remnant hoping one day, they would rise up and reclaim what their ancestors had lost.
